Well known actor Kunal Karan Kapoor, features in the launch infomercial of Organic Amrit, an e-commerce portal for Certified Organic food and Eco-positive products. The portal’s mission is to promote a Sustainable way of life by providing all essential products needed to switch to a Lifestyle that is both healthy for the self, as well as our Eco-system. The portal has a variety of product categories that include Certified Organic Food and Grocery items, Organic Clothing, Eco friendly and skin friendly Cosmetics & Personal care products, Shoes made from recycled plastic to even Organic pet-food!
In the film, Kunal directly addresses the viewer about the harmful effects of conventional agro-inputs like synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and hormones. He further talks about how these harmful substances can cause dreaded diseases like Cancer and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
“He is a dear friend and was really keen on supporting our Mission and Vision to promote Organic Amrit. And as much as he realizes the importance of Organically grown food… Kunal, being a foodie, has experienced first hand that Organic food tastes much better than conventionally grown food,” says, Punam Hariharan, the Founder of Organic Amrit.
“Organic food somehow has this “niche” tag among people, but in reality it’s a need and our right to eat safe food. In the film Kunal encourages viewers to switch to eating Organic food but only after checking valid certifications as there are many products claiming to be “organic” in the market. So, in the film we wanted him to address this lack of credibility and transparency with absolute straight talk,” says Indraneel Hariharan who is Organic Amrit’s Co- Founder and incidentally also scored music for the film.
The film has been directed by noted ad film maker Shiraz Bhattacharya who is known for his TV commercials featuring film-stars like Saif Ali Khan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and many more. Morover, he has directed music videos featuring artists like Vishal Dadlani, Ranbir Kapoor, Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and many others. “Since the script featured a very intense heart to heart chat with the viewer, I decided to let him speak straight into the camera without a single cut for the impact to be real and hard hitting,” said Shiraz about the treatment of the film.
Kunal Karan Kapoor, who shot to fame portraying the male-lead character Mohan, in the hit Colours TV series “Na Bole Tum, Na Maine Kuch Kaha”, is currently riding high on the success of the series “Ziddi Dil Maane Na” on Sony Liv.
