Usage
Urad dal, white lentils rich in dietary fibre and protein is used for making Idli & Dosa batter as well as in many sweets, savouries and dals. When cooked it is sticky and is a heavier dal compared to tur dal and moong. It is the main ingredient in papads and idlis and is a staple part of North Indian cooking (used to make dals, soups and khichdis).
