Amla - Indian gooseberry is a tree that grows in India, the Middle East, and some southeast Asian countries. The raw fruit tastes slightly sour at first and later leaves a sweetness in the mouth. Eating it as is gives the most benefit.

Usage
The amla fruit is eaten raw or cooked into various dishes, such as dal (a lentil preparation) and amle ka murabba (Candied Amla). Pickles and juices are also very popular. It is also used in alternate medicine such as Ayurveda for thousands of years. Rich in Vitamin C and E, it increases immunity and fights off free radicals.
