Chives are one of the most well-known herbs, but often one of the least used. They impart a light onion flavor in any dish and can be used interchangeably in recipes calling for onions.
Usage
Chives keep their lovely green color when cooked so they make a fancy addition to butter for an aromatic blended topping for corn on the cob, pasta dishes, mashed potatoes, or garlic bread. Chives give out their flavour the most as a marinate/cooked with sauces. Herbs like chives should be properly wrapped in a muslin cloth or a paper towel then stored in the fridge to retain their freshness and flavor.
