Parsley is native to the central and eastern Mediterranean region, but has been naturalized elsewhere in Europe and some other parts of the world too. It is widely cultivated as a herb, and also as a vegetable. Parsley is widely used in European, Middle Eastern, and American cuisine. It tastes peppery and has a hint of nutmeg, clove and citrus.
